Brooklyn Davis comes to Vincennes University from Louisville, Kentucky, where she attended DuPont Manual High School and built an accomplished basketball career highlighted by her impact on the defensive end of the floor. Brooklyn was a three-time Defensive Player of the Year, earned MVP honors at the KSA Tournament and was selected to the Regional All-Tournament Team while helping her team capture four district championships. One of her most memorable moments, however, was receiving her first college offer, a milestone that helped pave the way for her next chapter at VU.
Brooklyn chose Vincennes University because she felt it was a place where she could grow both as a player and person. The 5-foot-7 guard enters her first season with championship aspirations while setting a personal goal of separating herself from others at the NJCAA level and earning the attention of NCAA Division I programs. God and her teammates serve as her biggest sources of motivation, and she carries the belief that she can accomplish anything she puts her mind to. Looking beyond VU, Brooklyn plans to continue her education and hopes to eventually pursue her dream of playing professional basketball.
Away from the court, Brooklyn enjoys lifting and listening to music, with Bryson Tiller among her favorite artists. A'ja Wilson is her favorite athlete, and the WNBA is her favorite sport to watch. Brooklyn also enjoys barbecue ribs, On My Block and The Baby-Sitters Club, and her dream car is a Jeep Wrangler with red seats. She describes herself as goofy when people first meet her and says few people realize just how much music she listens to each day. If given the opportunity to break any record, Brooklyn would fittingly choose the NJCAA steals record, continuing the defensive identity that has defined her basketball career.
Coach Johnson on Brooklyn...
"Brooklyn is one of the most dynamic players on our roster. She is a crafty scorer who has the ability to create offense in a variety of ways, but she also brings a defensive edge that can change the game. She is a true menace on that end of the floor, and when she puts everything together, she is extremely difficult to keep out of the game.”
